How many times have you read something in Scripture that gave you exactly what you needed... and then forgotten where it was?

I've been there.
Somewhere along the way I realized I didn't want to preserve a book.
I wanted to preserve moments with God.
The prayers He answered. The verses He used to steady me. The promises I needed to read again when life became hard.
I wanted my children—and someday my grandchildren—to open my Bible and see evidence of God's faithfulness for themselves.
Most of us have a remarkable memory for what went wrong...
...and a surprisingly short memory for what God has already done.
That's why fear feels so convincing.
It tells us God has abandoned us. Forgotten us. Stopped working.
When the truth is, we've simply forgotten to remember.
That's why Word & Well exists.
Not to help you own another Bible.
To help you collect evidence of God's faithfulness.
To remember the prayers He answered.
The promises He fulfilled.
The verses He used to steady you.
The moments you never want to forget.
Because when fear returns...
...you don't have to rely on your memory.
You have a record of what God has already done.
Beauty Was Never the Enemy
Some of us have been told a Bible should stay perfectly clean.
That writing in the margins is disrespectful. That journaling is a distraction. That making something beautiful somehow takes away from God's Word.
I don't believe that's the heart of God.
The God who filled creation with wildflowers, mountains, birds, gemstones, oceans, and sunsets isn't offended by beauty.
He is the Author of it.
Again and again in Genesis, God looked at what He created and said, "It is good."
Throughout Scripture He instructed His people to build memorials—not because He needed the reminder, but because they did.
For some of us, beauty is what helps us slow down.
It invites us to linger a little longer. To notice. To remember. To worship.
And if you'd rather never write in your Bible, that's okay too.
There is freedom in that.
